MILOS FORMAN’S MA NON TROPPO VIVACE
by Jessie V.
Although Amadeus isn’t ostensibly a holiday movie, I can’t seem to pass through this time of year without an urge to settle in with a hot chocolate and watch it. I remember first seeing this film with my mother when I was very young at a small theater where they showed it sometime after its initial release. It was exactly one year...

Viking witchcraft and McDonalds
Andri Snær the author of the documentary Daumalandið (Dreamland) writes on his blog today. Who knew that a death of a Makkdónalds would create all this attention. Andri Snær, wants to, in a sens, declare victory by pulling down a rather average sized McDonals sign in Reykjavík like the US Army did with the Saddam Hussain statue a few years back. Here is a translated version:
“I can visualize...
NEW! Deep fried sheep heads
When reading about the terribly over-blow story about three McDonalds (MakkDónalds) restaurants closing down in Iceland, I came across a comment about the Icelandic movie Jarcity or Mýrin where the lead character gets him self some sheep head in a local Reykjavík drive thru, then returning home to feast on some brain and eye balls. We should really try to capitalize on this fantastic snack, how...
Everyone likes to take credit for finding America
This week, a Norwegian politician by the name of Knut Ødegård has been in the news here Iceland regarding the dreaded IceSave agreement. But thats way to boring to waist time talking about. Knut likes to think that Norway should give Iceland a gift “for giving Norwegians their national identity” with the old Sagas, more specifically Heimskringlan by Snorri Sturluson.
Apparently, its...
Good news at last, McDonalds closes its doors in...
Hopefully this will become a global phenomenon. Kreppan, as we call the depression here in Iceland, is not all bad news. Now we get to eat healthier burgers made from quality Icelandic ingredients. No more of those puny capitalist burgers that seem to include more stuff made by pharmaceutical companies then actual food.

Those Are People Who Died!
Jimmy had a heart attack, he was 60 years old, Strung out for a while before he stopped cold, Then became a poet with some albums on the side, Jimmy, we’ll miss you man… Another icon who died!
Real stories of individual decay always seem to make for good drama; they draw people in somehow, maybe because they serve as a reminder to maintain our...

Message to the Tumblr staff
Hey people, just like to say that I like Tumblr very much. Just shows how simple and effective software can be. Since I’m a web designer and all I figured I should share my views on a few things that are bugging me. This has mostly to do with themes and theme development. I have two minor suggestions: When I go into the customization window, why not show my full site in the preview...

Herb Lubalin
Herbert F. (Herb) Lubalin (b. 1918, d. 1981) was a prominent American graphic designer.
